The World Is Changing

Yes, the world is changing. It’s leaving some people feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, time-starved and out of alignment with what is most important to them. Whether that be family, friends, charities they support, personal development or their career / business aspirations.

The reality is that we are in a flux of change, and the overwhelm it creates can leave us feeling totally exhausted. What’s even more concerning is the number of people suffering as they are unable to cope with the demands that life puts on them. The feeling of being out of control of your own destiny can bring you down, like the recent confusion over flexible working…can we? Can’t we? Should we? Shouldn’t we? Companies were unsure of the best mix of hybrid and homeworking leaving employees confused and unsettled. I believe the consensus is now showing that there are benefits in having both a balance of connecting with others and alone time, but let’s face it, everyone is different and works in different ways and a changing workplace environment is not the easiest to settle in.

One of the most alarming figures I saw about change, was in the world economic forum, where it is estimated 60% of global workers will need additional training by 2027. The changes in technology and innovation speed things up and we certainly benefit from the time saved from more automation (who likes washing clothes by hand?) but that means we need to learn how to engage with it, use it, get the best from it to make our lives/jobs easier. Not doing so means being left behind from the innovation of an evolving world, you only need to read about Nokia to know how devastating that can be!

This unsettled feeling is like an emotional roller coaster and difficult to overcome without help. No, I’m not going to sell you the benefits of coaching as it’s already obvious why having a coach to help you navigate life’s changes is so helpful!

Instead, I’m going to give you something to use that will help you to reflect on what’s likely to be most important to you in your life, evaluate how much focus you’re giving these areas, and how to set smart goals to help you to navigate your way back to alignment with them.

In the meantime, a reminder about why being aligned is a helpful starting point…

Alignment is a word that resonated with me and over the years and continually showed up as a requirement in the many coaching sessions or wellbeing practices, I took part in.

In the wellbeing sector alignment is used to describe a way to channel our energy centres and become aligned with who we really are, and how we show up in the world.

Mainly, if you’re anything like me, being in alignment feels really good because you’re working from your core values.

When you’re not, it’s clear because it shows up as feelings of frustration either with people, situations or quite often; yourself. Misalignment can also show up in our lives as procrastination, tiredness, overwhelm and despondency.

My practice focuses on core values as a foundational touchstone that grounds us in a place that is true to who we really are. When we operate from a place that honours our core values, we

tend to find that life flows with ease, that decisions are easier to make, and we are able to focus on staying on the right path that fulfils us.

Sending you much love, light and alignment

Mandy 💜
